Missing crew member on Adventure of the Seas

We’re hearing sad news from Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas where Cruise Law News reports that a crew member has gone missing from the ship as it sailed towards Cozumel, Mexico.

When docked in Cozumel on Thursday, the captain made an announcement that an unidentified crew member could not be accounted for and was missing from the cruise ship.  The crew member did not appear at his work station and the remainder of the crew was unable to locate him.

Taylor B. Gothard, a passenger onboard Adventure of the Seas, told Cruise Follower: “They noticed between Costa Maya and Cozumel that he was missing and made announcements for him throughout the day. Eventually we left Cozumel and they informed us they would be notifying his family.”

Adventure of the Seas was on a 7 day western Caribbean cruise sailing from Fort Lauderdale. The 137,000 ton cruise ship that carries over 3000 passengers arrived back in Fort Lauderdale this morning as scheduled.

While unconfirmed at this stage, Cruise Law News is reporting that crew members onboard Adventure of the Seas are identifying the crew member as a 26 year old male entertainment staff member from the United Kingdom.

Our thoughts are with the crew members family and fellow colleagues at this time.
